Our New Home

We normally wouldn't have time to take photos of the house because we're too busy in the garage wood working and repairing things (or gardening and weeding) but we luckily found some free time this weekend...

Baby Boy - 18 weeks

We found out tonight that we're having a boy despite our insistence that we were having a girl for the past three years. We are happy either way, especially after finding out that he has long legs (19 week legs!) and is in perfect health. Here are some pictures that were taken:

His little feet (which will one day be dominating in all sports):

Sammy Mikalis - Dog Model of the Year (2007)

Sammy made her national publication debut this month as a model in InStyle Weddings. Although she's been contacted by a few animal agents and has been recognized on the streets of Montclair, we've decided to limit her to one job per year - look for her on the cover of Dogs Illustrated in 2008:

Mexico 2007 (Todd's 30th and Punta Mita)

-- MEXICO! --

After putting on quite a show at Bay to Breakers we decided that it was time for a little R&R - we definitely did not get that in Mexico but we had a blast. We stayed for a few nights at the Punta Mita Four Seasons and just missed Britney Spears by a day or two (we settled for the guy from Sweet Home Alabama). The hotel is awesome - you spend a million dollars a night and end up pouring beers from your room into plastic cups so that you don't have to spend even more money at the pool. A few lessons were learned while hanging out in Mexico for the week...

- Do not lay out all day without proper sun screen

- Do not smash your face on the ground the previous week and then hang out in the sun for five days in a row

- If you ever stay at a Four Seasons, tell them it's your anniversary and you'll get a complimentary bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries

- If you ever stay at a Four Seasons, make sure you stop at a liquor store on the way there and buy plastic cups

- When renting a house in Mexico, make sure you have a private chef who can make 5 lbs of guacamole on a daily basis

After the resort we headed down the road a few miles to celebrate Todd's 30th Birthday with the Fletcher's and a lot of his friends from school. We had a sick house and a private chef and lots and lots and lots of Mexican drinks. We pretty much just sat around the pool all day and had great dinners at night. Kaitie almost died from sun burn:

2nd Annual Baggo Tournament - May 2007

Another year, another Baggo Tournament...

The 2007 Baggo tournament turned out be a huge success; perfect weather, great food, 46 contestants and even a bit of shot-gunning beers. We even had contestants come out from Chicago for the event (Jane and Todd). You can't really ask for more - besides the championship that has alluded me for two years!

Here are a few shots:

We moved the tournament to the ampitheater - we had six boards and a permit that allowed us remove anyone that we wanted from the bleacher area. Unfortunately, we let everyone stay but it added to the drama of the event

Because it was Cinco de Mayo, we had the event catered this year by La Palma. It was a great choice and the food went perfectly with the shot-gunning of beers:

The tournament was set up World Cup style - there were 6 boards and we placed 7 to 8 people at each board where everyone played two games against a random opponent. As you can see from the pics below, most people were just out to have a good time (not me):

When the dust settled, we had ourselves a Sweet 16 - the match-ups were set and the tournament took on a whole new level of energy. The crowd was going wild with anticipation:

The Sweet 16

Finally the stage was set - here is a look at your 2007 Final Four group

The finals were Tim Carlin vs. Tony Stern (Gangsta vs. Southern Gentleman). Both players had gone undefeated and were hot off of impressive victories in the Final 4. Stern jumped out to a lead that he never gave up, hitting 5 straight shots at one point. A well deserved victory and a year of bragging rights

2007 Baggo Champion - Tony Stern

Thanks to everyone for coming out. It will be hard to top this Baggo tournament but hopefully 2008 will be prove to be bigger and better. Here's the final group shot:
